Plus 1 Oil Pan: Field data shows an average 15° temperature drop with the Plus 1 Oil Pan vs. stock. Date also shows the longer and hotter the ride, the bigger the temperature differential. Some of our customers have recorded up to a 30° temperature drop in the Nevada desert in summer where temperatures can reach 110° easy.

BD-1.5-W: Today's Big Twin engine makes a lot more power and unfortunately a lot more heat than its predecessor from 20 years ago. The 4 quart oil capacity unchanged since 1993 when the 80" motor made 49HP seemed inadequate to BAKER engineers, so we set out to design a new pan with addtional oil capacity. And so the +1.5 Oil Pan was born! The all new pan with additional 1.5 quart capacity can be used as a direct replacement for all FL models from 2009 and later. The additional oil capacity helps carry heat away from the hot engine reducing overall oil temps an average of 10 to 15 degrees. Excessive heat can be detrimental to the longevity of your engine. BD-5QTC-2PC: Baker Drive Train bought a new 2007 FL to use for 7-speed transmission development work. The first thing they noticed was how hot the damn thing ran. In traffic, we could see those little heat wave squiggle lines (maybe a flashback) coming off the motor. The 4-qt capacity, unchanged since 1993 (when the 80" motor made 49 hp), seemed inadequate. So we designed a new pan in Solidworks with a 5 qt capacity by going wider not deeper, hence the +1 Oil Pan. Taking a closer look at the stock pan we discovered it has the oil pickup and return in the front of the pan within 2" of each other. So we put the pickup in the rear of our +1 Oil Pan and the return in the front for better circulation. Fits 1999 - 2008 Twin Cam.
